Things to Look For in Your Wedding Photographer
Mark Eric has a great post over on his blog of things to look for in your wedding photographer:Things to Look For
My favorite is:
"5. Look for a photographer who offers engagement sessions as well as bridal and newlywed sessions. The engagement and bridal give you an opportunity to work with your photographer in a more relaxed atmosphere before your big day. This can come in very helpful- especially if you tend to be a bit camera shy. Establishing a good working relationship with your photographer is an important factor in producing great images together."
We love to do engagement sessions, because it's great to hang out and get to know our couples better before we photograph them on the most important day of their lives. It really helps people to feel comfortable in front of the camera, especially grooms who may think the whole idea is a little silly. By the end of the session, they tend to be converted into big fans of ours :).
Not only do we get to know our couples a little better, but I can also test out angles and lenses to see which work for different people. For example, some people look great when photographed from above, some from straight on, while others have a super attractive profile. The engagement session gives us a chance to try out lots of different stuff, and find out what works best for you.
Also, when couples see the pictures from the pre-wedding session, they feel reassured that we will do a great job on their wedding day!
Check out his list for more great suggestions.
