Anti-Workshop

I have been very slow in posting pictures from the Anti-Workshop I attended in Seattle back in June. It was so much fun and a great learning experience too. I was surprised at how much information was shared freely by the presenters: Chenin and Doug Boutwell, and Dalisa and John Michael Cooper.

On the first day, our photographic exercise consisted of taking a pink blow-up pig all over Pike Place Market and telling a story about it in 10 pictures (it's not called the anti-workshop for nothing!). Our pig got engaged, and started choosing her wedding dress, shoes, etc. I don't have any pictures from that day, as we had to use a polaroid camera.

The second day, we split into groups and each had a "model" to play with. We had a list of the types of pictures to get, like good use of lines, or light, color. It was lots of fun. Our model, Margo, did a great job:








On the third day, we all got to go Underground. In Pioneer Square, there is an Underground Tour, where you can explore the Seattle that used to be (now located under the city). We took our model couple down there, and Doug, Chenin and John showed us how they would work in that situation. Here are a few I shot during their explanations:






I was so exhausted after 3 days, but inspired also, not only by the presenters, but by all the other talented photographers attending the workshop.
